Local #600: Former Interim President, Currently Eastern Region Council Member/National Executive Board member.
After assisting on features, docs and commercials for several years with some of the best in each field, he started shooting commercials in 1986... and loving it!
Work on his 'labor of love' documentary, 'The Wind That Blows', began in 1989 which radically changed my direction for about 5 years... a truly amazing experience.
Returning to the mainstream in the mid 90's, he operated cameras on features and episodic television shows for well over a decade. High lights were HBO's 'Sex and the City' series and Craig Brewer's indy, 'Hustle and Flow'. "Operating is often the best job on the set!"
In recent years he have served as the Director of Photography on 'Law and Order:SVU', CBS's 'A Gifted Man' and many other productions.
Throughout his career he has been an advocate for strengthening both #644 and #600.
'The Wind That Blows', now spanning a generation, is at long last completed and currently on the festival circuit. It won awards for best documentary and best cinematography.
Join us on Tuesday, July 15th as we sit down with Tom Weston on Cinematic Immunity.
